HELP! I feel like Carrie in the Sad Mac episode- my MacBook crashed!!
My basically 2- months new MacBook (provided by my school district) seems to have crashed. It was acting all weird- very slow, with that lovely spinning wheel of death constantly. I had it going for a while so I just manually shut it off. Went to boot it back up, the gray screen just comes on with the apple and won't go away. We turn it off, turn it back on again a few times. Now we get the "no" sign (you know, like the no smoking sign).
Have I lost EVERYTHING?!  Has anyone had this experience before? I'm totally freaking out here. All my iTunes are on there (I never backed up the ones I purchased on top of what I've uploaded). Not to mention all my work for school.
Anyone?

Re-install the operating system. You probably lost everything. Did you take it to the Apple Store? They might be able to fix it.

I think I have to wait til Monday and bring it to my tech person. Technically it's not my property so I doubt the Apple Store can do anything. ugggh this suuuucks.

don't touch anything till an IT person talks to you..Just because an Operating System crashes, doesn't mean you lost data.
Im not an expert on Mac but If it were a PC and I knew the OS went belly up, I would have your data off in no time flat

With the Apple Store they keep the schools info in the computer. But Tom is right let your IT look at it.

Check the History you may need to remove a lot of it and also empty out the Cache...

PC girl crashing.... what on god's green earth is PRAM?
I looked it up on wiki and another site, and I'm still  It doesn't seem to be like 'regular RAM'
all I got from that read was that it's temp sensitive and stores mac OS settings......

I KNEW you could get Roy to go with you!! He's such a good egg. Brett would NEVER! He needs more SEX in Sex & the city for him to go. I can't believe I'm gonna wait that long- I'm too obsessed!!
By the way, yeah, I stand to lose TONS of crap. All the music I recently purchased for school, plus all the school work I did too.

Trust me, if it ain't full on hard core sex, it's not enough. That's what his Playboy channel is for! And I think he's bummed it's only Miranda's boobs and not Charlotte's or Sam's!
