Help! I found a roach!
I keep sticky pads in my house. Not a lot but some here and there. I just found a roach on one in my bedroom! Any suggestions on who to call that you'd recommend? I don't want to go through an overhaul but I need someone to check and maybe treat with something more on the natural side.
ETA: put a pic in album

Re: Help! I found a roach!
For just one roach I'd buy roach spray and treat myself. If you find you have an infestation, then you can call an exterminator.

I don't think that's a roach. It looks like a beetle. We've seen those flying around outside.

Re: Help! I found a roach!
I do think that could be a roach. I have read one way to distinguish them is if their antenna are longer or as long as the body (which the pic seems to show). Not sure what I would do!

Help! I found a roach!
That is not a roach. Roaches are medium to dark brown or almost black. This bug has a wide wingspan and roaches do not have wings.

You are actually very wrong. German roaches (the ones that infest houses) are light in color and actually do have what appear to be wings, but wings that do not function.
Taken from a website….
Full grown adult German roaches will grow to be no longer than 5/8 of an inch. They are light brown or tan and they have a set of wings, even though they cannot fly. The younger roaches look like smaller adults but with no wings. Parallel lines that extend from the head to the wings, helps identify this species of cockroach, one of 50 found in the United States.

My only saving grace may be that I don't see the parallel lines at all. Can anyone recommend an exterminating company?
