Help me choose! PICS
Here is my Dining Room -- I don't have a pic, bu the furniture is a dark mahogany...
Here are two rugs that I like:
#1
#2
what do you think?

I like #1 better, but it might be too much blue....
Maybe a more neutral color, like a taupe?

Re: Help me choose! PICS
The room is beautiful. But I think that I also would go a bit more neutral with subtle background shades of blue.

Re: Help me choose! PICS
The first one is a little more formal than the second one...that said, I think it's too much blue.
I might pick a rug that has contrasting colors to the blue to pick up the mahogony. Something with some rust/orange in it.

Re: Help me choose! PICS
Out of the two you posted, definitely #1! I think the second one is a little too "crafty" looking and not sophisticated enough for the room, which is beautiful btw.

Re: Help me choose! PICS
I prefer #1 for a dining room. I think #2 is more casual than formal, more living room.

Re: Help me choose! PICS
I like the style of #1 better than #2, that said, I agree that it may be too much blue. What about a more neutral color, like a yellow/ivory/taupe color, maybe also with blue accents. Or maybe a darker navy? just to add more contrast against the lighter blue walls.
This one is ivory and blue.
This navy one is nice.
a beige one with blue accents.
I think this one would look great.

Re: Help me choose! PICS
I do agree too, may be too much blue. Are you interested in Pottery barn rugs? They have such beautiful rugs (they cost a lot, yes) and have a blue and tan one that I love...
I wish I bought this one, but I bought my dr rug 2 years ago...its just shades of tan, yet my DR walls are blue.http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p6797/index.cfm?pkey=cprwrugwoo

Re: Help me choose! PICS
Thanks for all your opinions, ladies, I truly appreciate it....I think I am going with #1.....I know it has alot of blue, but I have yellow and green accents in the room also (that's why I was unsure about #2, which has those colors). I also plan to put a pale yellow runner on the DR table.....
It's so hard to pick stuff, isn't it?

I love Pottery Barn, and actually have one of their rugs on my living room....but I didn't want to spend $800 for another one....DH would have a complete fit!

I also forgot to say, love the room. Did you add the molding details on the walls or was it there?

It was already there -- although my builder was a complete a$$, he did do nice work on all the molding in the house.
