Help me clean my oven!!!
Last week, I made something with oil and it spilled onto the bottom of my oven. Every time I turn the oven on mow, black smoke starts billowing out of it from the oil spill.
What can I use to clean it? It is a self-cleaning oven, but I am hesitant to use it because of the smoke factor.
I am also pregnant, so I can't use harsh chemicals like ammonia and such.
Any suggestions?

Re: Help me clean my oven!!!
Perhaps you can ask your husband to do it for you. I always clean my oven with Easy Off. Now they have one with lemon scent and it's not so bad. You sprayed it, leave it for awhile and then clean up. It takes all the grease out. I usually clean with lots of clean water and soap afterwards. And when it's dry I put on the bottom of the oven aluminum foil paper so if anything falls, then the cleaning is not so bad and you just have to remove the aluminum paper. Makes it so much easier.

Use the self cleaning mode and have your DH stay home and you go out. Maybe crack open some windows because it does smell. Then when its finished and cooled off you can wipe it down with a sponge. HTH

Def use the self cleaning. It will get stinky for a few hrs, but it will also get clean! I don't like that easy-off stuff...too many harsh chemicals.
