Help me find my parents a home!
My parents have finally decided they want to move out here to be closer to DH & I. They live in upper Westchester and would like to buy a nice condo, or small house, the newer the better, out here. DH & I are in Islandia. They are in their late 70s and while they get around fine, but I am the only child and need to have them closer and vice versa. I have only been out here just under 2 years myself, but anyone know of anything in the surrounding areas, say Sayville, E. Islip, Ronkonkoma, Holbrook, Smithtown, Nesconset, Lake Grove, etc? Anything within a 10-15 minute drive from Islandia is what we would like. We have alot of family in these areas as well. They have a nice 3 br home with a pool amnd 1 acre of land on a cul de sac in Westchester that they eventually will put up for sale.

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
There are some nice 55+ complexes that they may want to consider. At that age, it's nice not having to worry about the maintenance.
Here's a 55+ townhome in Sayville (MLS 2070530 if the link doesn't work)
This is a brand new Smithtown complex for 55+

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
There are MANY houses for sale in all the areas you mentioned! And I don't know what they're looking to spend but I know they can definitely find something under $400K!
Go to mlsli.com and do a search you'll have tons come up!
Good luck and I'll keep my eye out during our search too!

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
My sister is trying to sell her condo in Woodgate Village in Holbrook. I don't think it's listed on MLS (it's with a smaller broker), but I can get the info, if your interested.

I assume they will spend somewhere between 350-500K (tops!) but they need to sell their house first. I'd love to seem them in a nice new condo/townhouse. Thanks!!!

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
What about the Park Row condos or the other new ones that were built on Carlton Ave in Central Islip by the courts? They are supposed to be really nice and definitely close to Islandia

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
The Ranches in Mount Sinai are wonderful and they have social outings all the time. People live there from 35 to 105 but it's the mix that makes it so nice. Very community oriented and about 5 years old. For a first level they start at $400K.
If they want something more affordable I think the condos in Brentonwoods (Coram) are nice and it's a nice development.

Re: Help me find my parents a home!
There is a nice condo complex in Holbrook called the Colony. Prices start from 430's and go up from that. They have a garage, and usually are 3 bedrooms.
