Help me get past a plateau!
I've been dieting since July 5th, but for the past 3 weeks I've stayed the same weight. I am doing the south beach diet. Trying to have just one whole wheat carbohydrate a day. I exercise around 4 days a week on average, running and strength training. My running is not too much, just a few miles but I am trying to increase each week.
Any tips on how to get the weight loss to start again? Now I'm a few lbs lower than my lowest adult weight, and I've never gotten below this point. But I'd like to lose another 15-20 lbs. I'm still a few lbs overweight according to my BMI.

Are you varying your caloric intake at all? I would have one meal a week that is a splurge meal. If you don't want to do an entire meal, have a dessert. It will help to boost your metabolism so that you keep losing slowly!

It's hard because I'm low carb so I'm not having any desserts other than fruit or the occasional sugar free pudding. And when I cheat should I still keep it low carb, like a burger without the bun?

I eat prett low carb myself with the exception of veggies, low carb bread in the morning and rice cakes. Just to give you an idea, when i have a cheat meal I have something similar to myr egular dinner but then get dessert...like CHEESECAKE. Dont keep it low carb. The point is to get the metabolism cranking! Enjoy@!
P.S> Don't be alarmed by the scale weight the next couple of days. it will bump up and will slowly come back down!

Really? So you'll lose the weight you gained and start getting a net loss again? And you only have to do this once to get your metabolism up again?Does this always work? So it's like regular diet, one cheat dessert, regular diet again, and that should do the trick? I'm always too afraid to cheat!!

Have you tried varying your running? same miles, but adding hills or intervals?
