Help me please! Trying to calculate O and LP time.
My cycle is usually 31 days, with a range of 28-32 days. My obgyn said that the avg LP is 14 days so she told me to subtract 14 days from my shortest and longest cycle. I calculate this to be CD 14-18.
Thing is I have very short periods. I usually get slight pink discharge on the first day, then a tiny bit of brown discharge the second day, and VERY light flow the third day (pantyliner is more than enough protection), HEAVY flow for 4th day, light flow again on 5th day, and period ends.
Should CD1 be the HEAVY flow day? I've been receiving conflicting info. One obgyn told me it is the first day of any bleeding, then I've been told it's the first day of full blown AF (heavy flow?).
I'm so confused.

"they" say that CD 1 = the first day of regular flow, or the first day you need a pad/tampon. So maybe for you, CD3 is really CD1?

I'm confused about what you are asking in the title of the post vs. the actual post.
the dates you calculated seem okay.
If you ovulate on CD 14 and get AF on CD 28, then that is a perfect "typical" 28 day cycle with a 14 day LP.

Re: Help me please! Trying to calculate O and LP time.
i count CD1 as my first full day of flow, not just spotting. in your case, i would say CD3 is probably your actual CD1.
maybe you should start BDing on CD10 to be safe and go from there. HTH. GL!
