help me wean DD off bottle
DD is now 11 months and I have no idea how to decrease bottles and introduce regular milk instead of formula. Can someone help? I feel like a moron but I just cant imagine no more bottles. Schedule is: wake- 5 oz breakfast bed wake- 5oz lunch 5 oz bed dinner 7 oz
I always offer 8 oz or so but shes taking less now. How do you cut out those bottles?

Re: help me wean DD off bottle
I'm a big fan of letting a child do it on their own time, unless it starts to become a problem. When Lily was a year, we switched her formula to milk, no transition. She had no problem adjusting. Soon after that, she stopped drinking as much of the morning bottle, so we cut it out. Eventually, she was down to just one nighttime bottle, and she decided when she was done with that one as well. She just stopped drinking it at around 15 months.
We didn't stress, didn't force it, and it all worked out pretty easily.

Thanks for replying. So you put regular milk in her bottles first?

Re: help me wean DD off bottle
We put regular milk in the bottles at first - got him used to that.
Then at about 15 months we started to take away bottles one by one. I wanted him off bottles well before DS#2 came along bc Jack was obsessed with them and didn't want him taking them from the baby when he came along.

Re: help me wean DD off bottle
I did regular milk in bottles for about a month; At 1 year ped visit he said to get rid of the bottles. So I would put water in sippy cups, found one he really likes, and then started putting his milk in that. At 13 months he now drinks only out of the sippy, mostly water but about 2 cups of milk a day as well. About a week ago I threw out the bottles I was "holding on to". That was surprisingly hard to do

I did regular milk cold turkey. I gave him a milk bottle and he didn't even blink. I know some babies need to transition so you can do some formula and some milk and then workd out the formula and add more milk with each bottle.
