HELP!! Sippy Cup
So, my ped said we should start getting DS on a sippy cup, with both juice and formula. I had started originally with juice when he was about 7 months old. I used the Nuby with the handles and soft tip and it was fine. He didn't get juice all the time, so it wasn't consistent, but it was ok.
Now he's 11 months old and wants nothing to do with a sippy cup. I've tried the hard tips, the soft tips, the straws...he's boycotted them all. He doesn't hold his own bottle either...did a little when he was younger, but now just a lazybones.
What can I do? Or am I asking too much of him right now? I have to go back to the ped next month, and I don't want her yelling at me

Re: HELP!! Sippy Cup
Marron didn't want any part of the sippy cup either, I think because it was too much work to get the milk out. I bought cups made by The First Years, that don't have valves -- it is just a drinking spout, and she will drink out of that. She still wants the bottle though when she is drinking as part of her meal. She will use the cup though to quench her thirst -- just sips of whatever I put in it. I'm just going slow. She'll get it.
If you don't want to buy different cups, you can try taking out the spill proof valve. Then the fluid will just leak out.

Re: HELP!! Sippy Cup
Try the Avent ones with the handles and soft spout. It isn't too hard to suck the drink out. It isn't really leak proof which is good for learners.

Re: HELP!! Sippy Cup
I honestly think that if you keep introducing it when DC is ready they will take it. I have been trying since 6 months and now at a year he is just starting having all his juice and water in it. Once he masters that I'll start putting his milk

Re: HELP!! Sippy Cup
It's just frustrating because I decide, ok I'll try this time....then he ends up crying, I end up frustrated, and have 4 new sippy cups to wash because I've moved the drink from cup to cup. I don't think I've bought the Avent one (shocking) so I'll try that as well.
Thanks guys!
