Help! with BJs!!!
okay, now that i got your attention....
I'm going shopping after work, i need to get HEALTHY food (DH and I are finally sick of eating like fatasses)... BUT, I'm horrible at picking up healthy stuff, and so far, my list is:
nutrigrain bars chicken breast toothpaste
what are some healthy snacks, foods, that i can pick up to get started on the right track??
TIA!

Re: Help! with BJs!!!
Raw fruits and veggies. Frozen veggies to steam or sautee
Yogurt
Low fat cheese
Healthy whole grain bread
I like the little cups of applesauce to take to work- they come in all kinds of flavors too.
100 calorie packs of anything. (makes portion control much easier)

Re: Help! with BJs!!!
from what Ive heard nutrigrain bars are sugar... I know like granola bars are, does nutrigrain fall into the same catagory???
And Veggie chips arent that great for you either. They aren't really veggies.
I may be wrong, it's happened once before

the whole wheat pretzels are pretty good!
i love mini carrots to snack on...DH loves apples, and we always buy lettuce and salad ingredients (I use raisins, almonds, and mandarin oranges to liven it up!)

Re: Help! with BJs!!!
Buy loads of veggies that you can cut up into strips and put them in baggies for work. I like baby carrots, bell peppers, celery, etc.
Fruit, too! i keep a variety at work so i don't run to the vending machine.

Re: Help! with BJs!!!
I second the light Laughing Cow cheese wedges. I will have one with baby carrots or celery. YUM!
I also buy oatmeal and keep it in my desk at work. If I don't eat it for breakfast and am really starving, I'll eat it and it will fill me up. BJ's carries an 8 pack of Healthy Choice soup, which DH and I buy all the time. They also carry muffins called Uncle Wally's lowfat muffins. So good and only 2 pts each.
HTH!
