Help with ideas for family vacation
We are going to be taking a vacation this summer with my mother, and my sister and family. There will be 5 adults and 3 children. Children will be 14 months, 10 years, and 14 years old. We want a vacation where there will be plenty to do for everyone, and where we won't all be on top of each other all of the time. We are considering a cruise, but we have to go in August, and my mom is worried about hurricane season. We are still considering it though (and a cruise would be my first choice). I suggested an all-inclusive in the islands, but my mom doesn't want to go to any of the places that have the most all-inclusives (DR, Mexico, Jamaica, etc.), because she is concerned about safety. At the same time, she knows that it doesn't make sense to go to an all-inclusive someplace like Aruba, because there are so many great places to eat there.
Any suggestions for other options for a great multi-generational family vacation? I thought of Mohonk Mountain House. Any feedback or ideas of any place similar?
TIA!

I highly recommend The Atlantis in the Bahamas. We went on a big family vacation there and everyone had an amazing time - ages 65 to 8 months. There is so much to do and the resort is large enough that everyone can do their own thing if they choose to.
