Help with smell.....

So while I was out today Cosmo had an accident. He pooped ALLLLLLLLLLLLL over the rug downstairs. It was pretty bad.

So I cleaned it up, used rug cleaner and brought the rug outside to air out/dry.

However, its inside now and I can still smell either urine or poop. How do I get rid of it b/c I'm sitting here gagging.....

Re: Help with smell.....

I clean it with a non-amonia product then i spray it with nature's miracle - it breaks down urine and poop

amonia products bring the dofg back to the same spot to pee

Re: Help with smell.....

There was a recall last month on Nature's Miracle, I'm not sure which prodcut but the EPA website probably has information on it if you search. I've heard a lot of people rave about it but wanted you to be aware, just in case. Chat Icon

Lori-
Our puppy (now 10 months), had been sneaking upstairs when we were out to pee on the carpets. I tried everything to get the smell out, especially when he did it in the guest room 1 day before our house guests were arriving!! What finally worked was spraying a mixture of vinegar and water on the areas, then leaving a bowl of vinegar in the room until it evaporated.

take your puppy on walks upstairs - teach them that all the rooms are part of the house otherwise the rooms they don't go in - they believe is not part of their house and will pee in them
