Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
When are you stopping yoru heparin shots? I was told to stop when I thought labor was beginning. My reg. dr. said he would be more comfortable with them giving me a date to be induced.
What is everyone else doing?

Re: Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
This time I am having a scheduled section, but with my first he told me that if I was feeling contractions to not take my shot and to call the office.

Re: Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
I have a scheduled c-section. I was on Lovenox until last week. My dr switched me to Heparin at 35 weeks in case I went into labor before my section date. He told me if I feel like I'm in labor not to take the shot, but that even if I do Heparin has a shorter 1/2 life than Lovenox and he'll be able to work around it.

same for me, I was switched to heparin at 35 weeks just to be safe and was told to skip the heparin the night before my scheduled c-section

Not there yet but just wanted to wish you the best. I find this whole blood thinner thing a bit scary but I am new to it, and just have to get used to it I guess!

I'm not there yet either. On Lovenox now. I believe I also stop Lovenox at 35 weeks and then start Heparin until I go into labor I guess.

Re: Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
ok so my next question is, are your scheduled c-sections bc of the clotting?

Re: Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
Mine is not because of the clotting, I had a c-section with DS after my labor stopped progressing, so I will have a scheduled section this time.

No, I'm on blood thinners because I have an aortic aneurysm, so the doctor scheduled the c-section because he told me my heart might not be able to take the strain of pushing.

Re: Heparin/Lovenox Ladies...
Ok, I was wondering if I would have to be induced. Thanks for your answers!
