Hepatitis C
I just found out that a close friend of mine has it. I'd like some personal accounts of the disease...more than I can find on an internet search.
Anyone living with the disease? (feel free to FM me)
Or have a friend or relative?

I know someone with it. They found out ealry on and was able to "cure" it. I put cure in quotations because they can't officially say cure until someone has not had it for over i think 10 years. They treated it with a pill and daily injections of interferon. They now have had a 0 viral load for over 5 years which is a great thing. Not everyone responds well and it really depends how long they have had it and what genotype they have. The person I know is living a healthy life and very happy that it has not returned. Not sure of your friends situation but they should find a really good Dr. I can find out where the person I know went if your friend is looking for answers.

I know my girlfriend did the interferon treatments. That is as much as I know. I just got back in touch with her after a few years of not speaking. I have known her for most of my life and we lost touch due to her having a very bad drug problem. She has been clean now for a couple years and she is back in my life. Im concerned for her of course but also for her daughter. (Whom I love like my own child) She mentioned the treatments to me thinking that I already knew she had Hep C. I was floored b/c I knew nothing about it.
Im sure we'll talk about it soon and I'll see if she needs any recommendations etc.
