Hey, you wanna sell that baby?
So last night DH and I decided to go to Fairway and see what it was all about. On the way out of the store, some man walked past us and looked at Sabrina and said "Hey, you wanna sell that baby?"
DH and I looked at each other and grabbed DD and put her in the car and loaded up the trunk as fast as possible. The man got in his car and left but it really creeped us out.

Most likely he was kidding, but I still think thats a weird thing to say---perhaps, 'your little girl is cute' might have been more appropriate---but then again, you just never know in this day and age, there are a lot of weirdos out there.

Ive had peple ask me what isle I found him on...I guess I would have to hear the context, was it a creepy person, or like an older man, old men have dry humor...hahhaa, still good looking out if you got a bad vibe...

Oh jeez - people say stuff like that to me all the time when I have Ale in a shopping cart..."Hey, what aisle do they sell those in?" "How much for that little cutie?" I take it as a huge compliment and tell them there isn't enough money in the world. lol.

Really? I get that all the time and I never thought twice about it. I think its suppossed to be a compliment. OR a joke..ya know your in the store and they said it..its IN context...If you were in the PARK and they said it , would be a different story.

I tend to agree with Donna and Kara that the guy probably was just trying to be funny.
But you were there, and if he gave off a creepy vibe, then that would freak me out too.

Maybe he was trying to make a joke, but it came out wrong. Hopefully, that's the case. If he wasn't, that's really creepy.
This reminds me of an incident that happened during a family road trip when I was in 8th grade. We were in our car outside a mall in Colorado, waiting for my parents to figure out our next move. I had the back door open and was sitting with my legs outside to stretch them out. A group of older boys came walking by and one guy said "how much for your little girl?" in a creepy voice. I took my legs in and locked the door. My mom responded with "$5!". My mom and brother couldn't stop teasing me about it the rest of the trip....and to this day.

This happened to me last night is Costco! I find that usually men tend to make these awkward comments, but I usually attribute it to them just trying to be nice.
The man who asked me what isle I found DS in last night actually offered to unload my cart, so I think it was just his way of being nice.
Personally, I would be more "creeped out" if a female asked me if I wanted to sell a DC.

Only you were there, so you would know how he made you feel. I agree that if I was in a dark alley that it would be more likely to scare the cr@p out of me. Also, the looks of people scare me as well. I mean if the guy looked psychotic and he was in gymboree Id still run...
