hgtv/ home improvement shows
anyone know of any that don't make the owners pay for it??? i want to get on one of those shows where they take care of the cost..lol trading spaces used to be free plus taxes but i don't think they are taking applications anymore. i would love for someone to come in and take care of my bedroom renovation

Re: hgtv/ home improvement shows
I don't know which ones do, but whenever I see those shows, I always tell DW that I could never be on those shows. There's no way I could just hand over all decorating decisions to someone. I need to be able to veto what I don't like, add more money if I think it needs it, switch things around, etc. Some of the shows, they have a set budget, and they have to cut corners because they are $50 short. I would hate to compromise for $50..... I don't think I've ever loved 100% of what a designer has done. There's always something I don't care for.

i agree! i think so many of those shows have such a low budget that they end up cutting corners and the work isn't as good as it could be... also they always are on a timeline, so i think they rush through everything. i would rather do it myself, spend the money that needs to be spent to have realy good work done...
