Hi girls!!!!!
Sorry I haven't been able to update, but this past week has been a whirlwind. It's been a blur. So many things going on. My mother slipped on the ice (from the freezing rain we had a few days ago) and ended up in the hospital; thank god she's fine, but she was pretty banged up. She was kept on observation for 2 days.
Anyways I'm sure you're all dying to know what I had- It's a BOY!!!!!  So thrilled that now we have one of each. I went into labor on my own last Thursday. At 3:30 am I had my bloody show. Contractions started about an hour later around 15 min apart. I was able to get some sleep and woke up again at 7:30 am. I now had contractions around 7-10 min apart. More bloody show. Contacted my doctor and she told me to head to the hospital. I really didn't think I was in active labor since I had false labor just the day before. I wasn't even in that much pain either, but since it was my second baby, they told me to come in. Contractions weren't really that close together, but off we went. When I was checked to my surprise I was already 6 cm!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Honestly the contractions were uncomfortable, but I would not call them painful at that point. I really must have a high tolerance to pain. Labored only 4 hours. I made it to 9 cm and finally asked for an epidural. Looking back I should have just went without because by the time it finally took effect I was ready to push. I literally felt everything until that point, but I took it because I was afraid I wouldn't have the energy to push. Well I was wrong again. About 10 min later baby was here!!!! All in all it was a quick labor and delivery. I had the baby at 1:18 pm. Chase Kevin made his entrance into the world weighing 7 lbs, 10 oz; 19 inches. His birth was pretty traumatic though, as about an hour later he stopped breathing. Thank god he's fine. All he needed was a little oxygen, but seeing 10+ people entering the room at once was scary. We later found out he swallowed meconium and they think the cord was wrapped around his neck. He spent 4 days in the nicu for observation. He also had an MRI done, which thankfully was normal. The birth was just so so scary. I'm just so relieved that everything is ok.

He is PERFECT! Congrats and enjoy your little man. So sorry you had the scare with the NCIU but glad it worked out okay.
So sorry to hear your mom fell...I DID TOO. I tried to get our paper sunday morning and slipped off first step onto my hands and knees because OMG it was all black ice...I was fine thank god because I didn't land on my belly but had black and blues on my knees. Ughh.

Congrats hun!! He's perfect!' And yes boys do love their mamas!! My little man is attached to me and I love it!! I also love his name!' Chase is one of my names if we have another boy!' I'm so glad he's ok and your labor seemed not bad at all!!
