High Prolactin Levels
Hi I am new here but just curious if anyone else has elevated prolactin?

i did and wasnt able to start my cycle till it went down. they did an MRI to make sure i didnt have a growth on my brain from the prolactin level which i was told is common if the levels are to high. my re put me on meds for a week and it made my levels go down. i also was told it messes with ovulation and they need everything to be at the right leves to start an ivf cycle. hope that helps. fm me with any other questions

Yes I do! I discovered it about 7 years ago. I am starting to take medication for it next month. I have to lower my level before I can TTC. FM me with any questions!!

Same here, I was on meds for 3 months, got my BFP this month.
Wow I didn't realize that so many women had this. I have suffered from this for the past 6+ years. I have a small tumor on my pituitary gland and am currently taking 2.5mg bromocriptine once a day since two months ago I was still high at 39. When this was first detected my number was in the 700's! I just got a BFP today so I am going to call my endocrinologist on Monday and discuss the next step with him. All this time I was so afraid that I was never going to be able to get pg so this is very exciting!

What kind of meds do they give you to lower the prolactin levels? DH and I want to try and conceive in the future but my prolactin levels are high, but thank god there are no tumors.. My endocrinologist says I may have a hard time getting pregnant with my levels being high..

Ask your doctor about bromocriptine. Do you know how elevated it is?

Ask your doctor about bromocriptine. Do you know how elevated it is?
Last blood test it was at 115.. but I am on the pill right now, so I am still getting my periods regularly.. but they think that when I go off, my periods will stop.

I just saw your post. My levels were at 114 at their highest. Once I went off the pill my period stopped completely. I am now on bromocriptine and hoping to get AF soon.

I have a friend who had high level...she was on a med to lower it and then had an IUI, got PG on the first IUI!
