Re: high school reunions

I went to my 10 yr and I plan on going to my 20yr next year. I'm still friends with some people with high school and friendly with many more of them on FB. I look forward to seeing everyone.

Also, DH and I graduated together from the same class so it makes it easier and more fun to attend the reunions since we both know all the same people. Chat Icon

Re: high school reunions

I hated high school, but I went to my 10 year reunion hoping to see that people had changed & to resolve some of my unresolved issues. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The a-holes were still a-holes, but they were drunk when they were laughing & pointing at people this time. I spent the night hanging out with 3 friends/couples that I had never lost touch with so it was a waste of time & money...we could have gotten drunk together elsewhere & had a much better time. My 20 year is in 3 years & I'm pretty sure that I won't be going.

Nope I have no desire to see anyone again. I kept in touch with the important ones and the others are a click away on FB.

I feel the same way. My 10 yr reunion is this year and I have no desire to go.

Re: high school reunions

I went to my 10 year reunion and had a total blast. We (the class) wound up having an after party.

I went to my 20 year reunion. It was just as much fun but in a different way. Those extra 10 years made us all much more mellow. There was no after party at the beach at 7AM!!

I will in all likelihood be attending my 30 year reunion (if they have one), as it would be next year.

I was in no way popular or anything like that, but it was fun seeing people and how they turned out.

Re: high school reunions

I went to my 10 yr & had a great time ! My best friend & I convinced two of our other friends to go so at the very least the 4 of us would just hang-out. It was in the school gymnasium so I don't remember it being a lot of money AND it was nice to see the old school. I really didn't see anyone I used to be friends with but the people I never spoke to in HS were pretty cool. So overall, definitely glad I went and would probably go to my 20 yr assuming I can get the 4 of us to go together again lol

Re: high school reunions

I have not gone to any. Didn't go to the 5th nor the 10th. I think it might have vbeen nice to see some people, but I don't regret it. Some of my frineds actually asked for their money back.

They keep having them in NYC bars on T-day weekend but not closing the bar, so the place is just packed to the gills and half of the people there are NOT part of the reunion. And then they want to charge $70pp. No thanks. DH and I can think of better ways to spend $140. PLUS we're already in touch with so many people via facebook and we had a whole HS table at our wedding.

Mine was $125/pp. It really was NOT worth that amount of money. I took my dh both times as he knew people I graduated with too but not sure if he will stay home next time if it is that much again.

I went to my 10-year 3 years ago. It was held at and organized by the school which I thought was pretty cool.

It was a little awkward though because basically everyone is on Facebook. I don't know how to describe it - anticlimatic maybe? Everyone pretty much knew what everyone else was up to.

Re: high school reunions

I went to my 10 year, it was a lot of fun. Well, actually the reunion itself was a bit of a dud and the food sucked but we went out to a local bar after and had a great time.

It was nice to see everyone even though it had only been ten years. I have my 20th Chat Icon Chat Icon coming up in a couple of years and I'm guessing I'd go to that as well based on the fact that I had such a good time at the ten year and now with facebook I've reconnected with so many people it would be nice to see everyone again.

Re: high school reunions

DH and I graduated in the same class from the same high school, and our 10 year was on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend last year. We went, felt like we kind of had to since we were there anyway. I am a joiner anyway so I don’t mind going to things like that. They had initially tried to plan something big at the Meadow Club but didn’t get enough people signed up, so it ended up being a more casual meet up at a bar in Port Jeff. It was fine, nice to see people (and funny to see that most of the girls look the same or better and most of the guys are either fat or balding…not DH though, full head of hair and in great shape!). I enjoyed it and I would say there’s no reason not to go. It’s one night out of your life!

I agree, the girls looked much better than the guys and even better at the 20th.

Re: high school reunions

My 20 year is coming up... (we didn't have one for 5, 10 or 15).

I don't plan on going..honestly, I have a handful of good friends from school that I still talk to, and while I've reconnected with some of my class on FB ... I have no real desire to see them or make small talk. Plus, I can find way better ways to spend the $300 its going to cost me to go!

Re: high school reunions

Hmm... Mine should be this year, but I received NO information about it or anything..

I will not go even if I do receive stuff about it. I hated HS then - and I don't think the 10 years of being apart from those morons will make me feel any different.

Re: high school reunions

I didn't attend my 10 or 20 year reunions... but I might attend my 25th (this summer). School was fine and I'm in a good place in my life so it might be interesting to see all these folks.

My class did not have a 10 year reunion. If they did, I would have gone. I am only friends with 2-3 people still, but I would love to see some old acquaintances.

My 10year reunion is going to be this year. Not sure if I'm going. They are figuring out what to do and planning it now. I really dont know if I want to. Depends where it is...how much..who of my friends are going. I really see everyone I want to see.

Re: high school reunions

i didn't go to my 10 year since I was getting married and needed the money. I hope they plan the 20 year to be at the local beach hut which so far it seems to be the trend now and it reduces the price to about $50 pp which is FINE with me!

I've been to my 5, 10, 20 & 25 ... and was only kinda bored at the last one (but I also went alone where I had gone with a friend to the first two so at least I had someone to hang with when I wasn't "catching up" with someone I hadn't seen in years).

Re: high school reunions

Missed 10 for a cousin's wedding. Missed 20 for my SIL's wedding. I would have liked to go. Maybe I'll make it to 30.
