high thyroid antibodies
Does anyone have that? My TSH (thyroid levels have always been normal), but in 2006 when I did bloodwork for recurrent miscarriages they found I had high thyroid antibodies. Some think there is a link to that and miscarriages.
I've been monitored by an endo and my TSH continue to be normal, but my antibodies are over 2000. The normal range is less than 20.
My endo said some drs will put pregnant women on meds for just the antibodies, but since mine is so normal (1.4), he doesn't think that it's needed. I will ask the high risk dr today, but figured I'd see if any girls on here have the same thing, and how their drs handled it. I know every dr does something different...

Re: high thyroid antibodies
I have that! It's called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I've had it for 10+ years now. I don't do anything special for it other than watch it with bloodwork yearly. My doctor said that eventually I will be hypothyroid (low levels of thyroid hormone) and for that I will be medicated. There is some theory that there is a link to miscarriage because it is an autoimmune disease. I;m pregnant with my 3rd now and have never had a miscarriage, so it hasn't happened to me. They also say that there could be some problems with infertility when you have this. If you have any more questions, please let me know.

Re: high thyroid antibodies
Thank you. That is what my dr said too...eventually I will have hypo
I monitor yearly as well, and will monitor more now that I'm pregnant. Good to know your story! Thanks!
How do you know if it's Hashiomoto's or Graves disease? I heard both are when your antibodies are high.
