Those with thyroid issues, are you considered high-risk?
I've had thyroid issues since having my first and am not sure if I'd be considered high-risk now. If I am it will affect my OB choice.
Anyone have any info?

Re: Those with thyroid issues, are you considered high-risk?
I got my 2nd BFP the same time my annual physical results showed signs of a wacky thyroid so I was considered high risk. I saw my regualr ob and a high risk ob. I think if my thyroid was under control before getting preggo I would have only gone to my regular OB and he would have checked my levels. Or at least this is what I think I was told back then.

Thanks Debbie! I'm trying to decide on a dr so this is really helpful info.
Anyone else with experience?

I had graves disease and had my thyroid removed in Jan'08. I wasn't consider high-risk nor did I have any trouble conceiving. I would have been considered high-risk if I did still have my thyroid though. Talk it out with your endo, they'll let you know.

I have hypo-thyroid and am not considered high risk- it is under control w/ meds and my OB just monitors me should my meds need to be adjusted

My thyroid has been has been completely out of whack for over a year. There was going to be concern up until 3 weeks ago when my TSH levels came back normal. My endo upped my synthroid to be safe, but no, no high risk ... as of yet.

I had my thyroid removed years ago...I wasn't considered high risk but I did see my endocrinologist every 2 months to monitor my levels and he increased my meds for the time that I am pregnant and I've had no problems.
