hives
does anyone break out in hives spontaneously?
I get hives from water and that's been for about 15-20 years...but recently (since the fall) I have breaking out in them daily, for no reason. (or none that I can think of) sometimes I don't even realize i have them and someone points them out that I've been scratching.
I tried to make an appt today with my internist, but they were closed. An internist would be best right now right?
I've been taking pictures of them for the last few days to show her.

I was getting hives from water a few months ago. I forget exactly how long ago but I know I posted asking about it.
2 Conditions you might want to look into are Aguagenic Uticara and Aguagenic Pruritus.....both of which I think I have. Although I havent gotten the hives in awhile.
I would start with the Internist and see where it takes you....
I myself have been having some issues, along with the Aquagenic ones, and unfortunitely Im not really getting anywhere....Im on to a Dermatologist next...

Re: hives
thanks - the water thing has been since about 18 - I've grown used to it. I was told by a derm to just take a claritin 30 min before showering.
but now I'm suffering everyday until I take a benadryl

Re: hives
I started breaking out with hives about 6 weeks after my son was born. He's 3 now and I still get constant outbreaks. I've been to my itnernist and 2 allergy doctors and they all tell me the same thing....I may never know what the cause is. Nice, right. So, the best they can do is keep them under control. I tried several antihistimes and finally found one, xyzal, that helps the best. I've had every blood test known to man done to see if we could find out the cause. Unfortunatley, like I said, I may never know. For me, they probably developed from a chemical imablance due to the pregnancy. If you want my 2nd allergists name and number, let me know. He's great.

Re: hives
Over the summer I started drinking Coke Zero like a mad woman. After about two months of the stuff I started developing hives on my left inner arm and forehead. I'm not sure if it was the Coke Zero, but as soon as I stopped drinking it the hives disappeared.
