Hobbies?

What are your hobbies?

I love cooking and can easily spend a whole day in the kitchen just cooking and meal prepping.

I also like fishing, but I haven’t been in 2 years because crossing the border to Austria is too much a PITA with Covid restrictions, although maybe I can go in September after my vaccinations are complete. They have different fishing license rules there (much easier), so I literally go to a river that is half in Germany and half in Austria Chat Icon. I like fishing for trout mainly here, but when I go to NY my dad and I like to go to the upstate Croton Reservoir System and spend the day fishing for trout and bass, with lots of sunfish being caught, lol.

Re: Hobbies?

i LOVE yarn.

i knit, crochet, sew a little, i haven't embroidered in years. i also enjoy cooking/baking. i can't wait for the weather to cool off a bit so i can start baking bread, again.

right now, i'm doing my very best to not buy a single craft related item and use what i already own.

i have enough yarn to fill a room, enough needles and hooks to make 100 items and each have their own hook or needle.

i currently have a "baby yoda" sweater on my needles. i found a cowl neck pullover sweater and am modifying the pattern to be a cardigan to imitate the coat from the movie. i made the cowl neck and i've made the increases for the sleeves. i'm officially in the armpits. i will be starting the sleeves tomorrow... before i go back and finish the body. then it's steeking (cutting the knit fabric to turn a pullover into a cardigan). that's always fun.

That’s awesome. I used to knit and I have a bunch of yarn in my basement. I mainly did socks. I suffer from second sock syndrome.

Is that the stuff? You can order it online. Can it be shipped to you? Or is that a problem? I can help if you need it.

After working and cooking and cleaning and laundry and all that junk, I try and squeeze in time for other things. Chat Icon

Music (LOVE music. Whether listening at home or going out to see a band or concert, it is a HUGE part of my life).

Traveling (would like to do more and have a list of places to eventually go to).

Eating (unfortunately it gets incorporated into almost everything and I like almost all foods)

Baking (more in the winter but will make something homemade for a party or bbq anytime of the year.

Entertaining (which I would do more often if I had more space and more money lol).

Shopping (again more money would be nice but I am always looking for deals--actually had a $5 Kohls gift card and 15% off so I just got myself another pair of leggings for $2 :) ) I do very well on a small budget.

Organizing and de-cluttering. Boring hobby but since we have such little space, it has to be done on a regular basis. I actually enjoy throwing things out though and having things in their own "home".

Sporting events--enjoy going to see games for any and every sport.

Collecting ornaments for my xmas tree from all over.

yes, that's the stuff.
historically, it's been tough to get in the US. it's quite coveted on this side of the atlantic. when my son joined the marines, i wanted him to be stationed in germany just so i can have him buy me yarn lol.

I’m music-obsessed. Learning about and researching new artists. I listen all day. I play two instruments pretty well and even perform with my local symphony (amateur).

I really really really wished I was the type of person who loves to cook. But I absolutely hate everything about it and just can’t get into it.

We listen to almost everything and anything in my house. No one plays an instrument anymore but we all have in school.
Going to actually see a friend play in their band for the first time tomorrow and so excited as she is AMAZING.
I like to cook but I have picky eaters and they complain that I make the same stuff but I have to as they won’t eat everything.

I read… A LOT.

I love being outdoors in nature, hiking, seeing waterfalls, staring in awe at the blue ridge mtns.

Not a “typical” woman who likes to cook and/or bake. That doesn’t bring me peace lol.
