I'd go a little further and have them stay at the Marriott in Islandia. Our OOT guests stayed there, and it is beautiful, with a great restaurant on site and a large indoor pool and workout facility.

It's a decent hotel.
Your crashing there after a wedding, right? You don't need anything fancy.

Re: Holiday Inn at Islip airport
I have never slept there, but I have been a few time for wedding shows when I was engaged.
IMO, the Hilton Garden Inn right down the road is MUCH MUCH nicer (and newer). there is also a La Quinta in Bohemia that is less than 2 yrs old, and really nice! my BIL and MIL have both stayed there. flat panel TV's in each room, free breakfast, very modern.

Re: Holiday Inn at Islip airport
We stayed at that Holiday Inn last year for a weekend when we were renovating our house. Our room was ok but the hotel itself was dirty and musty. People who had room service left there trays outside their doors and there was ants crawling all over them. The whole place just kind of skeeved me.
Their is a brand new Farfield Inn (Marriott) in right up Route 112 in Medford - about 6 or 7 minutes from the Medditarean Manor - you might want to try there.

That's where the OOT guests for my sister's wedding stayed, and it's really nice there. She was able to get a room block rate of $129 over Memorial Day weekend last year.
You may also want to check out the Crowne Plaza in Holtsville, it's right on North Ocean, a few minutes from Patchogue, and they have a free airport shuttle. Ahh disregard, I see the room block has already been done.

I would highly reccomend the Hilton Garden Inn or the La Quinta as well.

Re: Holiday Inn at Islip airport
When I worked at Southwest, we did our shorter overnights there (stayed at the Hyatt for the longer ones). As far as hotels goes it's "eh". It's older, not glamorous at all, but the staff was always VERY nice.
It does it's job by providing a clean, safe place to sleep.

Re: Holiday Inn at Islip airport
The La Quinta is gorgeous, the rooms are very comfortable. My sales people stay there when they come to Long Island and they rave about it.

Re: Holiday Inn at Islip airport
all of my guests stayed here after my wedding and the hotel was awesome! They even set up a room for me and my girls to get our hair done before and we also did a big breakfast in the morning.
