holiday lights - outdoor
What do you do to your house for the holidays? Ive been in my house a couple years now and this is the first year I want to do something outside.

holiday lights - outdoor
We put lights across the top of the front porch and along the part of the fence that faces the front (we live on a corner but do not put any on the side fence). We hang a wreath on the door and usually some kind of seasonal plant (mini evergreens) on each side of the steps on the porch. We have an old/antique sled that we also put on the porch. On the lawn, we have a couple of different blow up figures - soldier, snowman and 2 snoopy ones

we outline the whole house in lights, then the railings, windows and shrubs and we put light up deer on the front lawn.

We keep it pretty simple. We have two fake potted pine trees with lights that flank the door. Above the front door we have a huge wreath. We have two light up deer out front. And then we have the small candles in each window. You can also see our Christmas tree from outside.

Big wreath on the front door with a red bow, white lights and the tree is visible from our family room.

holiday lights - outdoor
Each year it's less and less. We haven't put anything up outside yet since we didn't get our cleanup done until Friday. This year we're just doing the blow-ups, candy canes and lights on the porch across the garage.

Re: holiday lights - outdoor
We used multi-color transparent C-7s with random C-7 twinkle bulbs placed through-out the string. We intertwined them with roping and placed them around our posts, front door, garage door, window boxes and we also purchased a wreath (and I used C-7s in the wreath as well.)
Our posts, window boxes, wreath & center of double garage door have bows. I also had my DH place large plastic ornaments in the corners of the front door and garage door (hard to see in this photo.)
And since I'm on a retro 80s kick, I had to put a plastic popcorn Santa on my front door.

Re: holiday lights - outdoor
We have our house outlined in white lights. A pre-lit bow on our front door. A pre-lit wreath in each front window.
And we change our landscape lights to red and green.
