Holiday Party Food Suggestions....Help!
We are hosting a holiday party for the first time in 5 years. I used to make so much food but now I hardly have time to pee! LOL...so, would it be tacky to order some sandwiches (wraps) and salads? There will be about 40 adults and 10-15 children throughout the night....
Any suggestions?

I don't think it would be tacky at all.
I know whenever I've had an event and ordered a big hero, the whole thing is inhaled. Guests seem to love that stuff, and believe it or not, DH and I don't eat coldcuts often so it's a rare treat.
I've also been to holiday parties where lots of heavy appetizers are served instead of a big meal, and have always enjoyed myself there as well.
Something like that, a lot of things could even be purchased already made at an Italian market or the like.

I think it's fine, but I always like something hot during the cold weather too. Maybe if you could put together a big tray of baked ziti a few days ahead and then just warm it up for the party. We've been to holidays with cold cuts, salads, and ziti and it always goes over well.

I love to cook, but when I have a large party, I always order some food rather than make everything from scratch. So I think a sandwich or wrap platter would be fine.
I also agree that people like a lot of appetizers/hors d'ourves.
I would just try to do things you can make an advance -- there are lots of appetizers you can make ahead of time (even way ahead of time and freeze). And you can make a popular dish like trays of lasagna or baked ziti ahead of time to serve as a main dish along side store bought sandwiches and salads.
Also, try to include some items that just need to be assembled, like a nice cheese board with grapes, nuts, and dried fruit, or an antipasto platter (meats, olives, marinated vegetables). Those are always popular items that look great and require little effort.

Agreed. Something hot is nice, IMO.
