Not to be facetious but why do you need the hot or hard to get items?

What do your kids want? or what are they interested in? At 7 years old, I def. was asking for things on my own already. For a 3 year old, I recommend board games like chutes and ladders, candyland, hi ho cherry o, memory, etc. and also a train set or a baby doll set and accessories. If they don't already have a play kitchen and all the play kitchen accessories, those too.

Are they girls or boys? They say everything frozen is gold. If they like frozen, all of those toys would be "hot" or "hard to get" items.

Here is a news 12 report on the hottest toys shot in toys r us, maybe this will give you ideas: http://bronx.news12.com/news/target-toys-r-us-gear-up-for-holiday-shopping-1.9626805

Because its always when you aren't concerned you find out about some toy you think, hey that's cool. But then find out its a 'hot' item which makes it hard to come by and you think "If I had known, I'd have bought it earlier before the rush"

So its not really showing FOR the hot or hard to come by items its just a way of looking first to say either "yeah I should get that its cool" or "meh"

JMHO

ETA
then that one toy you think no big deal is sold out and you have to decide to either let it go or freak out at the overpriced ebay or alternate sources for it. If you're lucky its only shipping costs that's the mark up. I never understood it until recently. STILL don't want to buy into the hysteria but some stuff is cute I will try to sneak in and buy it now BEFORE the madness!

Re: Holiday Toys

I feel like I haven't heard of any have to get toys for this year. Maybe check black Friday sales as they will probably feature hot toys

I think it's a valid question...

My 7 year old boy wants xbox (as does his almost 10 year old brother). I have to start researching it as well to figure out the right one and prices. Along with that lots of xbox games (minecraft, fifa, stuff like that). He's mentioned sklanders trap force although he barely ever uses the skylanders we have (tbut they completed the game so I guess that is why). I don't think either will be hard to get just want the best deal and want to start looking. The only other thing he asks for are pokeman cards and snap circuits (he has the junior intro set and loves it and wants more advanced ones now). Also, soccer and basketball jerseys are mentioned. Nothing too exciting this year. He went thru the toys r us catalog and didn't see anything he wanted outside of video game stuff. He does find anything science-y interesting.

I also have a 3 year old but a girl and I think you have a boy from your caption...She is about Frozen stuff, my little pony, and pretty much anything seen on a commercial.

You assumed I was basing my list on the question.

I said JUST CURIOUS...because I am curious. Nothing more.

Honestly I have my list already of what I am getting my boys. and this year I have decided not to start shopping early because then I simply over shop! So I am wondering what those hard to get items are, simply to see if any of the items on my list are consider one of those.

One shouldn't make assumptions.

I wasn't actually even looking for suggestions. I know what my son's likes are, I knwo what they want, I basically know what will be under the tree christmas morning. I actually was JUST CURIOUS.

Our 7yo is the same way!!!!
His birthday is coming up so he wants an xbox so much he is willing to give up a BIG friend birthday party!
He loves snap circuits, i want to get hte light add on. ALso Minecraft Legos. I am also hoping costco will get back in stock the microscope I saw there like a month ago.

I was wondering if Frozen was still so big for the girls I feel like everywhere I go its all I see. Might get my 3yo niece something. although not sure if she really into one paticular princess as much as being a princess! LOL

Yes this is it! I feel like there was the year I couldnt get the leap pad, the year I was looking for zoomer or something like that. These were things on my list and I had no clue they would be hard to get until, they were IMPOSSIBLE to get.

And I told you that I wasn't being facetious. I was honestly JUST CURIOUS as to why you were asking that question. And you answered that. There is nothing wrong with needing the hot or hard to get toys for this year. And there is nothing wrong with being "just curious" about those toys. But I was JUST CURIOUS as to why you needed to know about them and there is nothing wrong with that either. Chat Icon I didn't make any assumptions other than giving you suggestions, which I guess you didn't need. But you asked and I even provided the information- along with a news coverage of the topic. Sorry I tried to be helpful and answer your question as you sound annoyed.

Not annoyed, but your response did come off condescending and presumptious. Even if you werent trying to be facetious. It did come off that way. I wasnt the only one who read it that way.

But thank you for responding and the news report and even the suggestions.

I think when they get bigger it is a little easier. Chances are things don't sell out as fast because there are different interests.

My 7 yr old and my bf's 6 yr old are both getting itouches. Then some games/clothes/etc
