Home Depot vent...
We were supposed to have our new storm door installed today, after waiting a month and a half since we bought it. He arrived 3 hours late, and when he got there, opened the box and the door is damaged!! Now we have to re-order the door plus wait for him to have availability to install it again! More time off work...
Not the worse thing to happen, but I was just looking forward to my new storm door!

I have found that custom orders on doors/french doors, etc... at HD and Lowe's never come on time!!

I hate HD with a passion. they redid a TINY kitchen of mine. it took them over FOUR MONTHS. I would never use them for installation of anything but carpet ever again and even that i am hesitant.

Me too!! For my doors the installers had to come back three times, before the door was actually installed. The only reason that people use them, is that for certain things, their prices can't be beat.

I would call customer relations and complain for sure!
I don't like HD. I think Lowes has better customer service.

We had the worst experience with them installing our storm door. I thought the fact that they came to measure it and look at the frame (mandatory) was great! Yeah but the idiot that installed the door and my DH (idiot again) neither one of them bothered to look that the handles on my door and the storm door were now interlocking and once they were shut you were locked out even though the doors aren't locked!
Three trips later since they put the hole in for the knob all they did was turn my handle up and down. It looks so stupid. Luckily we will be getting a new front door soon but definitely not from Lowe's or if we do we will hire someone else to install it.

If you need someone to install a front door/storm door...let me know....we have a FANTASTIC guy! a few gals on here also used him and they were very happy with his service!!

we got our storm door from lowe's and weren't thrilled with the installer either. when he first showed up he said he wasn't sure if he was even going to be able to get the door in. i forget the reason why, but you think he would have figured that out when he came the first time to measure. he was able to install the door, but we had to have him come back another time because water was leaking in the door. i think the problem with HD and Lowe's is that they contract out all their work so you never know who you're going to get.

Lowes is worse then HD in my book. We ordered our storm door through them and it took 4 months for an installer to come and install the door (it took all of 20 minutes to do). I had to call the manager at Lowes at least 5 times and only when i threatened to talk to someone at HQ did they get the ball moving.
Then the guy who installed the door smoked a cigarette while installing it while halfway in my house. I just wanted it done so kept my mouth shut...but that was and will be the last time i will ever use them.
