Absolutely!!!
Builders really cut corners, and after watching that show Holmes on Homes...wow i feel bad for those people who bought new without an inspection

Oh, I definitely would. Just because it's new doesn't mean the plumbing and electrical were done right, or that there aren't issues with the structure. And your inspector can point out small, easy-to-fix issues that will save you money in the future. At our inspection, the inspector noted that the gutters spouted out too close to the house, which could cause foundation problems from water damage eventually. Something like that could definitely be true for a new construction too. Your peace of mind is definitely worth $500!
