Homebuyers tax Credit - for NON first timers
How do you PROVE that you are eligible for the $6500.00 incentive?
You have to have lived in your prior home for five years, which i did. what do i bring to tax guy this year to prove that i did? does something get mailed to the IRS, or do they just "look you up?"
i can't find anything on IRS.GOV that pertains to "proving" anything.

I belive you will be attaching a copy of your closing documents from your 5 year or more home (same as with first time home buyers) to prove it

If I read what our accountant sent us correctly it only applies if you closed on your new home 11/06/09 or after. If you find documentation stating otherwise, I would love to see it. I so thought we would be getting this credit but we closed in late August.
