Homeowner's Insurance - Dropped
I was recently notified that Allstate is dropping me due to the increased risk of hurricane threat to LI etc. I did a search and see this happened to others as well.
Can you tell me or FM the name of your agent and the phone number. lI am not looking to get car insurance only homeowners. Thanks!!

We have Allstate...We just got renewed for our policy in August....I know my BIL was dropped though bc they were too close to the water & the potential hurricane threat

Not applicable to the OP's situation, but to respond to other posters in this thread -- if you have a car and homeowners policy with Allstate they will keep the polices. If you have homeowners only, they will drop you.

I can't help with an insurer. But here's some interesting news about insurers that I read, recently.
There's a blurb in here about insurers pulling out of parts of Long Island.

speak to Anita, we got a nonrenewal letter from our old company in April & State farm got me more coverage for $700 less!!!! I was paying almost 2k per year before!
We have geico for our cars.

I believe it. Allstate is horrible!!!! They dropped us for SIDEWALK popping up a bit due to tree roots. A day before our freaking closing on our house....They look for ANY reason to drop. They dropped a friend of ours for something stupid too. We got State Farm then. Allstate did us a favor, to be honest, we say that all the time.
They did you a favor. Just go to State Farm. How far are you from the water?

Allstate is not writing any new policies. Their goal is to drop all homes on LI. However by law, they can only drop a certain # of policies each year...
We got our homeowners through State Farm.

State Farm--we just got our insurance with them a couple months ago, so I think they are still taking people on LI.

It is not just Allstate that is dropping customers. Many of the insurance carriers are doing the same thing. Nationwide is also doinf this, and State Farm is starting to refuse people who live south of Merrick Rd/ Montauk Hwy. Eventually, it is going to be hard for alot of people to get insured for a decent rate.
