Re: Homes in VA

OMG I am sooo nauses now. The prices in NY are just insane. My brother lives in Annandale Virginia and he said the prices there are just as bad as NY and so is Reston Virginia where one of my co workers lives. We have an office in reston

Re: Homes in VA

Scott - Yes some areas of VA are very expensive, especially around Washington DC. But Roanoke is very affordable. Not to mention beautiful. My Mom has been there for 13 years and I lived there for 2 years myself. There was a big artile in USA Today a couple of months ago and said that Roanoke was one of the nicest/most affordable places to live in the entire U.S.

NY real estate is sickening!!

Wow, that bathroom in the more expensive one is lovely, and the porch is great too.

Re: Homes in VA

I think the first house has more character. I'm a porch fanatic, so that's the one I'd take. Love the stairs too!!!

DH and I think of moving too in the next 5 yrs or so. It's too crazy on LI

Maybe a contractor can build a development for all the LIW couples!! Then we can see each other all the time, and GTGs can be in our backyards!!!!

Re: Homes in VA

Those are fantastic homes and you certainly can't beat the price. NY prices are insane...as we all know. This is the exact reason why DH and I left NY for PA.

I starting to soooo wish DH would consider moving to VA or the Carolinas...the houses you can get are amazing, good schools and taxes are next to nothing!

we are moving to northen va. actually we leave on sunday! My Dh is already there, hes just waiting on me!! We have a 4br 4bath townhome in an upperclass area and we paid under 200,000 for it. the school district is wonderful and the taxes are (are you sitting?) $985 per year. and this development is under 5yrs old....
