"Honey, the dog's wedged under the bed..."
Darwin is very old now (14+). He's always been afraid of thunder, but his hearing is going, so he hasn't been hearing it lately. I guess it was really bad last night, because at 2:30am, DW wakes me up to ask me if I can help her get him out from under the bed!
Apparently, there was just enough room for him to scootch his butt back under the bed up to his shoulders, but since his back legs are in bad shape, he couldn't push himself back out....
I just picked the side of the bed up, DW pulled him out, and he was fine the rest of the night.
This morning I told him "You do realize that I'm going to have to post this on the forum, right?"....

Before his hips started really bothering him, he would "hide" in the tub...

Awww poor guy! I'm glad he's ok now! I slept right through the storms, and as far as I know, so did my dogs. They don't get upset about thunder, thank God.
I wonder if they go find cool places like the tub because they're anxious and overheated.

Hmmm.. never actually thought about that before. It does make sense. I thought he was trying to get away from the noise, but the tubs probably are much cooler than the floor, especially the metal ones (although he mainly went in the fiberglass whirlpool tub)
