Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

I had this problem in the beggining. I totally watched what i at. Bland as can be. Some people took meds for it. I can't remember the name but do a search or ask you dr. Tums doesn't really help. Hope it goes away.

Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

Thanks Chat Icon

I will ask my Dr. at my next appointment. I did a search and am going to try and eat lots of small meals.. and stick to the bland food.

Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

I remember at one point mine was REALLY bad... in the second trimester.

I tried not to eat late past 7pm and also, no spicy foods or foods with a lot of seasoning.

Last, TUMS TUMS TUMS.

I hate milk.. but I tried it last night anyhow and it made me throw up Chat Icon which of course made the acid reflux a million times worse.

Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

omg, i had it the worst yesterday!
i took tums, drank milk, ate bread and it seemed to work
it did come back again so i just kept popping tums!
my dr. said i could take (besides tums) something that started w/ a Z -i can't remember the name of it
it was either the sausage i ate (1 small pc!!) or from my spicy lunch (never again!)
really try to eat things that are not spicy..more bland!Chat Icon

Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

Tums usually help me, but my cousin had it really bad and was taking Zantac almost every day. I find that if I eat dinner too late (which is almost unavoidable for me, since DH & I get home from work around 7-7:30) I will wake up in the middle of the night with that horrible acid feeling in my throat. One of the lovely side effects of being pregnant!! Chat Icon

Re: Horrible Acid Reflux

Yes! I have had awful acid refulx for most of my pregnancy. It doesn't matter much what I eat....as long as there is food in my stomach, it happens. It keeps me up a lot of nights, and I have even thrown up from it Chat Icon
The only thing that has kind of helped me is Zantac. My docs say that I can take Zantac 150. So, I usually take a 75 with dinner and another 75 at bed time.
Feel better! Chat Icon

The same with me. No matter what I eat it happens.. and then it happens when I don't eat. I can't win. I am going to try the zantac. I just noticed the bottle I have is expired so I need to go buy some.

I have been getting it bad a lot too. Zantac helps me.

I have to stay away from sauces....b/c whenever I have pasta with red sauce...the reflux gets BAD! Also be careful of fried foods.
