Hospital bag--what are you bringing for the baby?

So I pretty much know what to bring for myself but what should I bring for the baby other than a take home outfit? TY Chat Icon

I believe you go to the same ob as I do, so NS manhasset...1st time around I didn't bring anything besides the take home outfit. If you feel like you might use a pacifier bring one-they don't give them(as far as I know from the last time I delivered-10/09). The only other possible things I can think you might want to bring is a hairbrush...but the baby pretty much wore a hat 24/7 and that flattened/straightened it out anyway...or possible nail clippers-which I didn't clip my DD's nails for a few weeks out of fear.

I don't think I am bringing anything other than the outfit this time around either.

They give you diapers, the wipes you add water to, plenty of blanket and shirt changes-if baby gets dirty just tell them and they will bring a change of shirt/blanket, small travel size baby wash/lotion, the nasal aspirator...formula if that's what you are using.

ETA-bring an empty bag to take home all that stuff.

Reading through some old posts and most girls say just bring a take home outfit (or two), a pacifier, blanket, and the baby book for foot/hand prints.

For DD#1, I had a few outfits, the take home outfit, a few receiving blankets and a handmade blanket.

I didn't really dress DD in anything but the hospital onesie. So I didn't use most of what I had. They supply blankets, diapers, wipes, ointment, pacifiers, etc...

This time I will bring some hats, because DD's head was big and the little caps they gave in the hospital didn't fitChat Icon
