Hospital Tour? Childbirth Classes?

I'm almost 27 weeks and have yet to do any of these things. Can anyone speak from experience as to what is necessary/helpful? When should I schedule them? Any recs for classes?

This is our first child and neither DH nor I have spent a lot of time around infants so I am thinking that I definitely need some form of education I am delivering at Winthrop if that makes a difference?

I'm delivering at Winthrop as well and signed up or a bunch of the classes that they offer. You can call the Parent Education Office - 516.663.2858 I think the woman that mans it is there Monday, Wednesday and Friday (and possibly Thursday, but I'm not positive on that )

Here is what we're taking and the prices (all prices are for 2 people)

Childbirth Prep - 3 2-hour sessions - $150
Breastfeeding - 1 2-hour session - $30
Baby Care - 1 2-hour session - $30
Orientation - 1 2-hour session - no charge
Hospital Tour - 1 1-hour session - no charge

We'll be doing all of these when I'm between 35-36 weeks (except for the hospital orientation - we're doing that next Tuesday)

We only did one beforehand - the infant CPR, which I would highly recommend. We also did the bath class in the hospital the day I was discharged, which I would also recommend.
