Hot Air Ballooning
Has anyone ever gone?
My DH and I are going to Sonoma/Napa in April and we just booked this. Does it get cold at the high altitude? How should we dress?
Any recommendations or suggestions would be great!!

I went a few years ago - SO much fun!
It might be a little cold. What time of day are you going? We did ours early in the morning, so that plus the March weather in southern California made it a bit chilly. I wore a sweatshirt and jeans and was ok. You can always call the ballooning company and ask what they recommend for that time of year.
Also, wear comfy shoes. It depends on what kind of basket you get, but we had to climb in and out over the side. Some baskets have a little door, so you might not have to do that. And we were standing the whole time.

I went hot air ballooning in Napa this past summer on my honeymoon. It was amazing. We used a company called Bonaventura. Be prepared to wake up very early in the morning (we had to be at the site at 5:30) wear layers of clothing. It's cold before the sunrises and sweltering once it does. It's actually warmer once you're in the air--plus the flames that control the balloon are right next to you no matter where you stand in the basket. It's an expensive adventure that I definitely recommend!
