Hot days: anyone else find their dog eats less on the really hot days even when they are in a/c all day?
Oreo's appetite was doing so much better the past few months, even though he's always been very finicky. However since the temp has gone up the past 3 days I notice he has not been eating too much of his food. He's in a/c all day and is still very playful and energetic. I tried putting the a/c down a little lower today and will see if that helps for later (he usually eats around 7).
He isn't panting heavy, but I feel like he should be drinking more too. He always goes through this and bounces back, but I get worried anyway. He has not lost weight.
ETA: I was just thinking about this. He also has been getting slightly less exercise the past 3 days too because preggo mommy can't take long walks in the heat and daddy has been coming home late. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Yes! My pup has been more sluggish and has eaten less over the last few days of intense heat. I have also had much less of an appetite over the last few days and figured he has eaten less for the same reason. I have been giving him ice cubes more often which he eats up. He has no problem eating treats either. I am not worried, I think this is pretty normal and they will start eating more in the coming days.
