Hot Dogs- How bad are they?
I'm really craving one.
I had some pigs in blankets on NYE but that was it since getting pregnant.
Are they really THAT bad?

Probably not if you heat them to a certain degree (not sure what temp but it has to be super hot). I have managed to stay away from them even though I LOVE them...it must be hard to be pregnant in the summer with all the BBQ'a going on!!

Yeah I like them well done so that should be fine...my concern was the nitrates I guess- but I figure it's not like I eat them ALL the time right?

my doc said that as long as they are thoroughly cooked and I don't eat a ton of them, they are perfectly fine. haven't had an opportunity to eat one yet but this post is making me think....

I've had them with both pregnancies...I just cook them really really well beforehand and try not to have it too often.

My motto is that if you are craving one, have one. Just don't have 5 in a row..  I've had a few during my pregnancy so far in total. When I used to eat 2 at a time before BFP, I now only have one and make it a good one.

I'm avoiding them. But I'm not a huge hot dog person to begin with so it's not a big deal for me.
But DH made some for himself dinner the other night.... I've never wanted one so bad.

Nope, they actually are really good, especially loaded with deli mustard and sauerkraut. Just make sure they are cooked.
