Hot Weather Fever
Going out of my mind!
Last night Noah woke up at 1.47 am screaming, I went in to see him and he had a fever of about 103, it was bloody hot in his room. So I gave him some water (which he didn't want) and some medised (its the SED thats important) to bring down his fever. I cooled him down with a wet washcloth and eventually he calmed down and went to sleep. So this morning he woke up as normal, full of beans and cool as a cucumber.
So my question is thus...can you get a hot weather fever??? Can a little guy just overheat??? Anyone? Any doctors out there?

Re: Hot Weather Fever
I"m not a doctor but I know your baby can overheat. They don't sweat like we do so their bodies do not have the ability to cool itself down like ours. If you dont have an air condition in DC's room on an especially hot hot night I would bring him into your room if you have one in there or at least open his windows and put a fan on.
I have noticed with DS that if it is extremely hot out and we hold him for too long his body begins to get hotter and it raises his temp. It can be dangerous for small babies.

It doesn't usually get hot here, but it was warm last night and our house just seems to hold in the heat. I used a cold washcloth to cool him down and I turned the ceiling fan up in his room. It was just as hot in our bedroom, and I took him in with me and he wasn't interested in sleeping in my bed. He woke up in the morning as happy as usual..
eta...we don't have air conditioning at all, it rained all summer!!!
Thanks for your help!
