house just listed down the street from me (fort salonga)
GREAT price for the area but house is in Excellent+ condition. HUGE potential though.
if anyone wants me to check out an open house, let me know. i am a bit picky and will give you a totally candid opinion.

I love that area...  
I think if I could live anywhere in LI, it would be there!

Look at that Land!! It says Northport, but I know they're right next to each other.

actually, fort salonga is a part of northport. the street where the house is listed as well as mine's zip code is northport, town is smithtown and SD is kings park. really confusing!

Ahhh, I didnt know that! Thanks!! Love that area, would be on it in a heartbeat if DH didn't think Suffolk was as far away as China

your DH sounds like me!!! my DH grew up in Smithtown... i grew up in RVC and Baldwin. We are buying in Greenlawn. I am DYING... it's soooo far away!!!! Dh is like, it's western suffolk. I am like "Key word = SUFFOLK!!!" An hour to Penn Station on a express train???? yowza....i'm at the pub already by that time!!! i can't imagine being any farther east than where we'll be.... but suffolk is beautiful, particulalry the north shore.

Too funny! DH also grew up in Smithtown (the Pines) and I am from the RVC area (lived there for a bit, but grew up in East Rockaway). It's not that he doesn't like the areas, its that he commutes to work, works a lot and thinks anything in Suffolk is too far to commute to northern Queens by car.
I guess I don't understand his thought process since his dad has commuted to the same job (fmaily business) from Smithtown for almost 40 years!!
