I still don't understand HOW they thought that investing on bad debt based on the SPECULATION that it will rebound and flourish is supposed to be consider a good plan for bailing out companies that went under for doing the SAME EXACT THING.

I still don't understand HOW they thought that investing on bad debt based on the SPECULATION that it will rebound and flourish is supposed to be consider a good plan for bailing out companies that went under for doing the SAME EXACT THING.
they did say this wasn't going to be an immediate fix not sure what that means but I am hoping we will see things getting better in the coming weeks as credit markets ease up.
I don't blame Wall STreet for being skeptical....only time will tell.

I'm sure the bailout is based on a more long term investment, BUT, if the dow is supposed to be any indication of the public's response and confidence in this plan today... they failed.
Interested to see what monday brings.

and this was proposed in part by Paulson, who said that the crisis was over after the Govt siezed control over Fannie & Freddie

I think Wall Street is just sticking it to them...for being painted as the bad guys meanwhile how many of them have been making bank from the street for YEARS

I'll give them the $700Billion if they could all swear to g-d that they would never say "Main street" again.
(sorry about intertwining church and state there- but i felt it was necessary for the cause)
