the whole process, from beginning to end, is just so stressful!!! But hang in there because when you finally get the key to you own house and you walk in and it's all yours - it's a GREAT feeling!!!! It's all worth it in the end! Hang in there!!!

Re: HOUSE PURCHASING

it was the most stressful thing that I have ever done. It almost caused a divorce..luckily we came to our senses.

It's all worth it in the end though.

When I purchased my first home the NUMBERS were what scared me the most. you cant even fathom being in so much debt. But then you sign all the papers and you kind of forget about it. you make the payments work and you find away. Also - the first year is always the hardest but it only gets easier from there (as long as there are no extenuating circumstances)....

It really was... but alot of it is up to the professionals so it seems like its out of your hands. That is very stressful too. Hang in there! Chat Icon

I agree (on the sedative thing) - when we bought it was such an emotional process.
We lost 2 or 3 houses we loved. It s&cked!
Then the house we ended up losing, we were re-offered (current house) and the women we bought it from (AND their lawyer) were such B$^0Hes!!!!!!!! The process was ridiculously trying...some of my friends had a wonderful experience - bottle of wine in the refrigerator, leftover furniture, etc.

yup it canbe painful,
my agent & broker & lawyer are great..

Re: HOUSE PURCHASING

First of all, Congrats on finding a house and going to contract.

I found the month between contract and closing totally overwhelming. All we did was run around getting paperwork together and signed. I was so glad when we got to our closing - which is the GRAND FINALE of signing, talk about writer's cramp!

Re: HOUSE PURCHASING

Congratulations on finding a house. It seems like the longest process, and I remember many days of being stressed out. Danielle was so worried that we werent going to be able to afford the house. I was just waiting to get in there so we could start ripping out the inside. I had so many ideas......and I just wanted to be able to get the keys already. The day we closed....would you believe, we didnt even go to the house. We were too exhausted from the closing. All that signing and talk of numbers...and paper work...ugh. I never want to do that again....but we will. When we buy our dream house in a few years.

I think the worst part for us was writing the big deposit check at the signing of the contract....ouch.

Also our real estate agent was a nightmare. She was trying to force us to use their in house mortgage broker, and we were told by our lawyer that it is against the law for them to do that, and that we should just yes them to death, and when the time comes for them to find out that we had another broker.....then they will have a big surprise.

Well lets just say the real estate agent wasant too happy when our mortgage broker called her about the inspection. It was pretty funny.

Just relax, and dont worry...you will be fine.
