Re: Household Work

We have a cleaning lady and a landscaper because I know he wouldn't split the work. Having said that, I do 90 of the cleaning and any other household chores on top of that.
He supervises the landscaper..
Same here, but for the later, that's also my responsibility!

Re: Household Work
I've been working killer hours lately - he does the majority.
I haven't cooked a meal in 3 or 4 weeks, he does the laundry (I'll fold), he does the vacuuming, the mopping, the dusting, unloading the dishwasher.
He does all the garbage and recycling plus doing the sprinkler each night (he has to movie it all around the yard) and the mowing/edging.
I'll do the kitchen counters and clean the bathrooms.
He's a doll. I think it's beginning to take a toll on him though.

Re: Household Work
I do MOST of it. dh is great at throwing the clothes in the washer dryer. I usually fold.
he will sometimes vacuum and take care of outdoor things and the cars.
we have a landscaper for the lawn.
I do all of the general cleaning and cooking otherwise. my MIL does a lot too during the week.

Re: Household Work
Whatever is left that we do ourselves, is 50-50.
We have a cleaning person, and we send our laundry out.
Me: Dishes upkeep organization hanging the clothes up cooking
Hubby: Puts the clothes away Takes out the Garbage
Both: dog care (wee-wee pads, bowls, etc.)

Re: Household Work
Honestly, DH does about 60-70% of all the household work, including outside lawn work. I help, but he is OCD with cleaning and it works out since I do all the cooking/baking/planning, etc.

Re: Household Work
I do most of the house cleaning. DH would help if I ask, but I just do it.
He does the dishwasher, will run a vacuum. But dusting, mopping, bathrooms, laundry, etc it's all me.
He does the lawn-but he doesn't do it very well (he is new to weed wacking).

Re: Household Work
We are pretty 50/50. We have a cleaning lady come once every two weeks so the heavy lilfting is done. I do most of the laundry, he does most of the cooking....I do most of the shopping & dishes.
He does the grass, I do the weeding and he does the pool...

Re: Household Work
I do the house work but my husband does the other manual labor. Installing shelving, moving stuff, fixing my car, taking care of the sprinklers etc.

Re: Household Work
I say about 50-50. I don't work, he does. He does the vaccuuming, his own laundry and whatever else I ask him to do. It's hard work organising what to tell him to do.

Re: Household Work
I do all of the cleaning (dusting, mopping, vacuum) bc I'm very particular.
He does the landscaping and garbage.
We both feed the dogs, walk them, go grocery shopping and make the beds.
It almost sounds as if it's 50 50 but, I do all of the laundry and pay all of the bills so, Its more like 65 35!

I would say 50/50. However there are things that he primarily does, and things that I primarily do.
We never sat down and said who should do what, it just worked out that way.
Same here.

Re: Household Work
We each do our own laundry - I do DD's. I do 99.9% of the cooking, he does 95% of the dishes. He does 100% of the litter box cleaning, I do 100% of the fish tank cleaning. Garbage to the dumpster in the complex 60/40 split him/me. He will run the occasional vacuum - I do 100% of the rest.

DH definitely does more. Maybe 40-60?
but DH works from home, so when he has downtime, he usually cleans.

Re: Household Work
I do it all except maintain the pool (and I get home at 7pm which is later than DH). We have landscapers for the lawn. It doesnt really bother me though. I dont think the house would be as clean if he did it. If I left him up to cooking we would be at a restaurant every night so I dont mind cooking because I cant eat out all the time, too many calories!!!!!!!!!!
