How and when did you tell your families?
Did you tell them right away or wait the 12 weeks?
I'd love to hear any special or fun stories of how you broke the news!

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
Depending on how it goes today, we are thinking of telling my mom Thanksgiving morning (we won't be spending it with her) just in case any of DH's family guesses/suspects I am at dinner, I want her to be the first to know.
If none of my inlaws guess/suspect, we will probably wait until Christmas to tell them.

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
We still haven't told anyone- i'm about 6 or 7 weeks. I'm going crazy wanting to tell my mom but my 1st dr's appointment is a week from today- so i'm trying to hold out till then. But- it would be so nice to tell her and the inlaws at thanksgiving!! I got onsies made up for the grandparents to be. For my mother i got "grandmas 5th little angel" and for my MIL "I love grandma" and FIL "don't look at me, that smell is coming from grandpa"

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
As soon as the second line appeared, I called my mother screaming "OMG OMG!" & my father was sitting right next to her & he figured i out from her screaming & bouncing in her seat.
We told my in-laws around 8 weeks when we were over there for dinner.

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
we told them the night we found out. after dh got home from work and saw the test we went out to dinner (bought a digital just because ) and called them on the way home from dinner. we're not really good at waiting for surprises.

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
I would have told them sooner but I was waiting for the perfect time to get everyone together. I'm almost 11 weeks now and I'm telling everyone at Thanksgiving. Gonna show my mom something we bought...a onesie that pertains to us as a couple (has a very cute saying) that hopefully will give it away. My mom is known to have things go completely over her head though.

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
We told both our families when I was 9 wks. It worked out, because the weekend before was our anniversary, so we bought both our mothers frames with the sonogram in it and a little poem. I wrapped them up in boxes and told them to look at what DH got me for our anniversary.

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
I told my parents the week I found out I got my BFP. We told me in-laws by sending them a text pic of the pregnancy test and sent it to her cell phone while we were on the house phone with them they live in SC and it was so sweet to hear there reaction over the phone!!!

Re: How and when did you tell your families?
Absolutely nothing exciting...I called my mom the morning I got my BFP, and told DH's immediate family the following week (about 5/6 weeks). DH told his dad in person, and his mom on the phone. I emailed my SIL to tell her.
I'm 11 weeks, and we still haven't told my dad or extended families. I'm waiting until our sono next Tues. to make sure everything's ok, and then we'll probably call the grandparents. I'm thinking of just surprising my dad with a pic. of a baby in about 6 mos. (we don't see each other often or talk much)
