how big was your baby at 12 months?

by big, i mean pounds, and inches if you remember. thank you so much! (i wanted to know to prepare for doing my registry.)

My first DD was 21lbs and a couple of oz., but DD#2 is already 21lbs 6oz at 9 months--she's also the same length as DD#1 at a year, so I don't know if you really can plan for clothing sizes, etc. well in advance like that.

The twins were 17lbs & 28inches at a year...

u can never really plan for clothing, esp that far ahead...and usually the clothing sizes (example 30-33 inches, 27-29 pounds)....really doesnt account for much, bc i know DD was never in the sizes that she "should" have been....
in either case, she was 20 pounds, 30 inches at a year, and was in most 12 month clothing, except for carters, which she was in 18 months....

I'd wait, my ds was in 12 months a LONG time ago. He's 11 1/2 months and wearing 24 months/2T. He weighs over 25pds.

My DS is 10 months and about 20lbs.
I wouldn't register for much over 0-3 months actually. You can't predict what sizes will fit when, there are some brands taht DS still wears 6 months and some where he wears 12 months.
Plus people bring clothes after the baby is born and usually that seems to be the bigger stuff.

I just want you to know my DS is almost 7 months old and weighs 17 lbs and 29 inches long. He already wears 12-18 month size clothing. You really can never tell what size they will be. DS never wore newborn size clothing. With that said, I would still purchase long sleeve footed cotton onesies in 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 12 and 18 month sizes. I would hold off on the fleece onesies and larger size clothing until your child is born.

I would just register for clothing up to 12 months. That way you have something in every size. Every baby is different. My baby came home from the hospital wearing 6-9 months clothes, so you just can't go by trends.

thanks ladies! i was actually wondering more about strollers and car seats, since with the travel system i want, the car seat only holds babies up to 22 lbs. i would hate to have to replace the carseat portion before a year, although i guess if it came to that, i could always get a 3-in-1 carseat that converts from infant to toddler to child.

My son was out of it at 2 months - and in the Britax Marathon. You never know.

Diana is right, you never know. My nephew was out of it at 4 months but my DS was in it until 8.5 months and my DD is 7.5 months and still in it. If you don't want to purchase 2 carseats then I would just get the convertable carseat in the beginning and use that.

My 3rd baby is already over 18lbs and she is only 4 months old. Its hard to guess.
I quit using the infant seat when my first two were 4 months old. My 3rd baby will be done using in in a month (5 months old).

I think most people replace it before a year. I feel like we used it for a really long time and DS came out of it at 9.5 months.
There are a lot more factors besides height and weight to consider as well.

DD is 32 inches tall right now and we find out her weight on Thursday for her one year appt. Her last appt in November she was 22 lbs so we will see.
