I guess it depends on what I decide to dwell on - overall I would say it wasn't great. I do feel permanently altered by this year. Usually I look at the more positive side but it's been hard.

While it didn't happen to me, I don't think any of us will ever get over seeing my SIL's hopes get shattered or my nephew not make it out of the labor room.

Also seeing my grandmother detrioriate to the level she has with Alzheimer's has been pretty painful.

I'm looking forward to better things in 2006.

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

There were some highs and lows. We had a wonderful time in Disney World and in Arizona. However, my father had a kidney transplant in June, which thank g-d, was successful, but still stressful for all of us, and my grandmother passed away from cancer, in July.

I'm hoping for a better 2006.

I cant tell if the good outweighs the bad.

Good- I married my prince.

Bad- My Uncle who I considered a father to me passed away and I still cannot deal with the loss.
My Grandmother passed away
Was disgnosed with infertility Chat Icon

I feel like the year started great and ended with one of the worst in my 30 years...

im looking forward to 2006 and hopefully putting some of the sadness behind us...

Very good year.

Got Married.

Still Married. Chat Icon (very happily)

We went to the Bahamas for our Honeymoon and went to Disney for our 6mo. (And this is for someone that rarely travels).

I doubled my DJ business by picking up some more gigs.

Full-Time job still very good as well.

2005 was full of ups and downs for me. It was a year of growing and healing. I signed the papers to my annulment in early 2005. that was the hardest thing I ever had to do.. thank goodness for great friends and family.

I went on 4 trips- Vegas, Miami 2x and New Orleans...i made a promise to myself to travel and have fun..

I met my current bf back in the city on St. Patricks Day.. so far so good..

my sister had a baby and I was apart of the birth experience. Something I will NEVER forget and ALWAYS treasure!!

my other sister grew closer to our family and my nephew- thank god, is doing ok....although he has a long road ahead.

I am hoping 2006 continues to be a good year for me, my family, my friends etc...

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

It's been a tough and great year all at the same time. Even though both DH and I are unemployed at the moment, I've got to say that we are truly blessed. We had a healthy baby boy and bought a house. We have our health and supportive family and friends. Not finding a job yet is bitter sweet, although things would be better financially I've been able to spend the first seven months of my son's life with him.

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

Not so good for me. DH and I both lost our jobs (although this happened late in the year) and we still have no baby despite many months of trying.

Let's hope 2006 brings us new jobs and a new baby.

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

It has been a pretty rough year. But in the grand scheme of things, DH and I are alive and healthy and that is most important. My DH is such a gift to me that no matter what, I can never say I have it so bad. I am looking forward to 2006.Chat Icon Chat Icon Maybe Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Despite getting married we consider 2005 a bad year. We lost 3 close family members.

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

Let's see:

Still married

Still got both sets of parents

Got promoted

Went to California and Las Vegas

Mets made a decent playoff run

Only bad thing is that the Jets tanked

so, all in all, not a bad year

And I'm soo very sorry Heather... 1 is more than enough to handle in one year. I can't imagine 3. Chat Icon

As for me... well, I spent half of the year pregnant, 1/4 of the year on maternity leave, got a promotion, "officially" became a homeowner (my name is now on the house)and I became a Mommy. I have to say it really was a great year for me. Especially spending the summer home with my baby boy.

Re: How did 2005 treat you?

2005 was a good year for us as well.
We went on 4 incredible vacations (Florida 2x, London/Paris and a cruise)
I left working in NYC so I could be closer to home and be more relaxed
And we found out in Sept that we're going to have a baby in June!
We also just bought a new house.

So we're looking forward to 06 with a new house and a baby!
