Re: how did you get your newborn on a schedule or routine?
Honestly, over time my DS started to fall into his own schedule. He would slowly start to drop feedings, his sleeping at night used to get longer, he would go to bed a little earlier over time. He really did it himself!

Re: how did you get your newborn on a schedule or routine?
Our DD basically got herself on a schedule. The only thing we did was try to hold her off for 3 hours in between feedings because when we were doing every 2 hours she was spitting up a lot. Other than that she determined when she ate/slept.

I didn't do anything. I just went with the flow. He made his own little schedule.

Re: how did you get your newborn on a schedule or routine?
I agree. DS really dictated the schedule. The only think I did was track it all, feeding times and amounts, sleep times, diaper changes, etc. And after a few weeks I noticed a pattern and it was easy to get him in a schedule from there. Once I went back to work that was out the window!
How is your "little man" doing? DS was the same size as yours and he was such a good sleeper in the beginning.
Good luck!

Re: how did you get your newborn on a schedule or routine?
Christopher slept all the time for the first 2 weeks. I remember callign people at work and saying man this mommy thing is sooo boring! But I was lucky because at night he would go to bed by 11, wake up from 3-4 for a bottle and sleep until 9 or so. By about 3 weeks he discovered the world and then went though a no sleeping during the day phase for about a week. And then leveled off. My son was 9.14 my niece was 9.13 and they were both such easy babies and good sleepers. I say there is somethign to be said about big babies! I hope your DS is the same way!
