Re: How did you honor your parent at your wedding?
Just a suggestion, though it was not for our parents:
DH & I included our Grandparents (I only have 2 living & he has none living) & several members of the family (3) who had passed within 4 months before our wedding by having a special candle.
I actually made it myself.....I took a 6 inch tall pillar candle, typed a poem I had found on vellum & attached it with pins so it was decorative. From this candle, we lit our unity candle. The minister said something to the effect of remembering our loved ones who had passed away ect......we lit our candles from it.
After the ceremony, the candle was placed on our table & remained lit for the night!

We honored my MIL by having her name on our invitations, having a dove release in her honor and she was also remembered in our program.

My dad was listed on the wedding invite "the late XXX XXXXX requests...."
In the program I put a poem in honor of him.
The cantor also spoke of him and our relationship during the ceremony.

Re: How did you honor your parent at your wedding?
i will have a poem in my programs and it mentioned during the prayer of the faithful - my father died 7 years ago of cancer, but my uncle who was supposed to walk me down the aisle, died suddenly of a heart attack earlier this year - i will probably do the same for him as my dad -

My SIL had a unity candle for her dad, and she dedicated the song "Who You'd Be Today" by Kenny Chesney to her dad, and we all danced to it.

Both of our Dads have passed away. We had pictures on them on the alter with candles lit beside them. I also had them mentioned and a poem on our wedding program for them.
