How did you tell your husband your pregnant?

Hi Ladies,

I am just curious, how did you all tell your husband you were pregnant. I had my first IUI last week and i'm hoping that i'm pregnant. If I am, I want to really think of a creative way to tell me husband and need a few suggestions.

How did you tell your husband your pregnant?

Not pregnant yet- however I saw a while ago a baby batman/ batgirl onesies and a dad shirt with batman on it with a cute saying "every superhero dad needs a side kick" dh loves batman. So I bought it and have it hidden away hopefully to be given to him soon!!!

I wanted to do something really creative. I kept saying I would wait a few days and buy him a bib that said "I love Daddy" or something. It took us so long to get pregnant and we were doing IVF that when I finally got that BFP I just waited for him to get back from walking the dog and told him right then and there!

Nothing even remotely creative. He was out for his friend's birthday and I kept pestering him to come home early. He came home pretty tipsy and late and he was telling me about Not Your Father's Rootbeer and telling me I needed to try it and I just kept smiling and he asked if I was okay. I finally said "Yeah... about that. I won't be trying that for awhile- I'm pregnant." He flipped, of course. It was after months of trying, so he wasn't exactly surprised. I would've loooooooved to come up with a cute way to tell him, but it was torture waiting all day to tell him, let alone waiting longer than that!

We did tell our parents in a cute way though. It was my FIL's birthday so that was easy enough. We wrapped up a onesie and the sonogram and gave it to him as an early birthday gift. It said "Let the Spoiling Begin". We did the same for my parents, except the onesie said "I love my Grandma and Grandpa". Both were COMPLETELY surprised.

How did you tell your husband your pregnant?

I wrote "only the best husbands get promoted to daddy" with a bib that says "daddy loves me".

How did you tell your husband your pregnant?

We literally sat and watched the digital pregnancy test together and started screaming in unison when it popped up "Pregnant." I am an over-sharer so each day leading up to the test, I was updating him on if I felt like AF was coming or not so he encouraged me to test. I wish I did something more creative though!

We got a BFP with our first IUI, so good luck!!!

I made dinner of; baby back ribs, baby corn, baby potatoes, baby carrots and on the plate (under the food) I wrote "We're Pregnant"

I wanted to tell him with a cute onesie that said "crawl. walk. cycle" since my husband is an avid cyclist (like if he had to rank cycling in his great loves... it would be Me, Skipper -- our dog, Cycling).

However ... We were surprised with an early BFP in August (we were NTNP, we had planned to start trying in october) ... so he was out cycling when I peed on the stick... so I just kept calling him until he picked up and told him over the phone.

I still bought the onesie though even after because it is just too perfect. Whats even better is that my due date is May 1st -- which is the day of the 5boro 40 mile bike tour that my husband does every year

1st time around I wrote out a card and taped it to the front door for him. He was working nights so he got home soon after I found out. I had to act quick. Lol. I taped his reaction from the hallway.
This time we tried for so long and I had an IUI. When I tested I saw the faintest line and showed him. He couldn't see it. He was part of me then testing the next couple of days.

First time around, he was practically with me as I was peeing into the cup I woke up to go to bathroom and he follows me in and is like "you are going to test right"..

This time, it took us 17 months.. so I just checked, and he was sleeping, and I went and told him. The first few months, he would eagerly wait by the door (I learned from the first time) and it was disappointment after disappointment, so when it actually happened it was felt surreal.

with our first, i got him a father to be fathers day card (I got my BFP end May so the timing was perfect)

Our second was a big surprise - and i took the hpt while he was out for the day. I tried to come up with something creative so i put a sign up in dd's room (she was 6mo) saying "big sister to be"

So uneventful. I think I e-mailed him a picture of the positive test because he was at work.

How did you tell your husband your pregnant?

#1- I had the day off and was supposed to be cleaning the house since we were having a bbq the next day. Took the test in the morning and begged him to come home for a few minutes by telling him I needed something that was in the car. He could only run in to say hi and give me what I asked for and I said I was making lunch or dinner or something like that and I wanted him to look in the oven to see it. Inside I put a bun. He was like, why is there a bun in the oven? And then he looked up and saw the tests (yes multiple lol) on the counter. We had been trying for 2.5 years so we hugged and cried.

#2- I took the test on Christmas morning. While we were cleaning up from breakfast, I said - so you remember our oops a couple of weeks ago? He's like, yeahhhh???? I said - wellllll..... And he's like, no effing way. How is this possible? LOL. 2.5 years to conceive the 1st and then one oops to conceive our now 10 week old. #1 was 9 months old at the time lol.
